A Sherbrooke Machine in Seoul: Le déménagement / The moving day

Étant donné que le bail de l’appartement que j’habitais se terminait à la fin du mois de février, j’ai déménagé. Je suis maintenant hébergé chez la famille de Chrystal Lee! Comme son frère fait présentement son service militaire, ils ont une chambre de libre dans leur appartement.

C’est en banlieue de Séoul, à Gwangju, il faut donc prendre un autobus (~50 mins) pour rejoindre une station de métro à Séoul. Bref, je n’habite plus directement à Séoul.

D’un autre côté c’est une autre expérience. En plus, ils ont refusé que je paie pour ma nourriture donc en fait « j’économise » de l’argent (j’en dépense moins que prévu). Je vie davantage le mode de vie coréen (nourriture, interactions familiales, etc) ce qui est toujours intéressant lorsque tu voyage dans un autre pays.

Fait cocasse, Chrystal m’a dit que son rêve d’enfance était d’être traductrice et comme les parents de Chrystal ne parle pas vraiment anglais et que je ne parle pas vraiment coréen, s’est pas mal ce qu’elle fait tous les jours!

I had the appartment where I lived since I am in Seoul until the end of February, I moved. I am now host by Chrystal Lee family! As her brother is currently doing his military service, they got an empty room for me in their apartment.

So I’m living in Seoul suburb in Gwangju, I need to take a bus (~50 min) to get to a subway station. It’s unfortunately farther than previously.

But, in another hand, this is a different experience. I live more the Korean culture (food, family interactions, etc) which is very interesting when you travel in another country. Moreover, they refuse that I pay for food so I “save” money (I spend less than I thought).

Funny fact, Chrystal told me that her childhood dream was to be a translator and as her parent doesn’t really speak English and as I don’t really speak Korean that what she do all day!
